Day 6 - Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island

Breakfast of Cheerios, then off to the park. The ranger at park headquarters gave us some good tips. And it turns out, the partk doesn't really open until tomorrow! Many roads closed, etc.

But we chose to park by the side of the road and hike up towards the summit of Cadillac Mountain. Through the forst, then popping out of the trees onto open rock with spectacular views out across the ocean. I was actually here about 30 years ago; some of my memories juxtapose oddly with the present day view.

Quite cold when you stop moving, with strong win. We stop about 2/3 of the way to the summit (actually having gone farther than we planned).

Grilled steaks for dinner. We were both very hungry! Then started a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, and put in maybe 200 pieces.
